How it compares

Automechanika Frankfurt is the global meeting point of the aftermarket, with 4,400 exhibitors in 2026 and a mainly international audience. A buyer looking for new suppliers across Asia and Europe gets more from Frankfurt. EQUIP AUTO Paris is the better trip when the goal is the French market itself: independent garages, bodyshops, the big buying groups and the national repair networks come here in force. The two alternate years, so many suppliers do both.

Autopromotec in Bologna, with 1,692 exhibitors in 2025, is the stronger show for lifts, tyre service machines and heavy workshop equipment, and it falls in May of the same odd years. EQUIP AUTO puts more weight on parts, bodywork and paint, car care and the service networks.

Motortec Madrid serves the Spanish and Portuguese aftermarket at roughly half the size of the Paris show and runs in spring. Companies with a North African focus will also find the organizer's own EQUIP AUTO Algeria and EQUIP AUTO Morocco-MAT closer to their buyers, while Paris draws Maghreb buyers alongside the French trade.

EQUIP AUTO Paris is the trip for aftermarket suppliers who want to sell to French garages, bodyshops and distribution networks, and for buyers from France, Belgium and North Africa who want the whole repair supply chain in one place.

Who exhibits

The floor is led by vehicle parts and components, which made up almost a third of exhibitors in 2025, followed by workshop equipment and diagnostics, car wash and care products, and bodywork and paint. Large suppliers such as Bosch, Valeo, ZF Aftermarket, MANN+HUMMEL and TotalEnergies stand next to French repair networks like Groupe Centaure and national pavilions from China, Turkey, Taiwan and South Korea. Startups and recyclers have their own villages.

Equip Auto Paris 2027

Renovation of the older pavilions at Porte de Versailles moves the show into Pavilions 4, 5, 6, 7.1 and 7.2 for 2027, so regular visitors will find a different layout from 2025. The organizer is aiming for 1,500 exhibitors and brands.

Two new villages widen the audience: one for van and truck repair and maintenance, with a hands-on workshop space built with GARAC, and one for motorbikes, scooters and licence-free cars, where ALCOPA Auction will run a motorcycle auction open to bidders on site and online. A detailing and car cosmetics area is also new, with masterclasses and the live restoration of a barn-find car.

• Fleet and truck maintenance managers should start in the new LCV/HGV Village, where the GARAC space runs hands-on workshops and real repair scenarios for vans and trucks.
• The International Grands Prix for Automotive Innovation shortlist is judged by trade journalists, and in 2025 a dedicated trail led to the shortlisted and winning products; it is a quick way to see the year's new workshop and parts launches.
• Bodyshop owners will find paint, abrasives, filtration and paint booth makers grouped in the Bodywork & Paintwork Village, run with the French bodywork federation FFC.
• Non-French speakers can follow the Arena program: in 2025 the conferences ran with simultaneous translation in eight languages.

Exhibiting

Exhibitors choose between a bare stand, a fitted Essential or Premium stand, or a small module in the Startups Village. Participation includes a compulsory Exhibitor Pack that covers badges, e-invitations, catalog and floor plan listings and an entry to the innovation awards. Payment runs in installments, and stand locations are allocated only after the first deposit, so early registration matters for a good spot in the new halls. The show pays off most for suppliers selling into French repair and distribution networks.
