More than 5,000 people attend, and about 225 companies exhibit. The crowd is landscape contractors and their crews, nursery and greenhouse growers, garden center buyers, arborists, landscape architects and the people who run municipal parks departments.

The show has run since 1996 and is produced by Kinsley Meetings for the region's trade associations, led by the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado, the Colorado Nursery and Greenhouse Association and Garden Centers of Colorado. That shapes the program: education counts toward pesticide, arborist and Colorado nursery certifications, and members of seven partner associations pay member rates. The timing is deliberate, just before spring, when contractors and garden centers set budgets and place orders.

The floor keeps adding hands-on features: an Arborist Corner with climbing demonstrations, a product and equipment demo area, a Potting Challenge and, for 2027, a Cut Flower Courtyard.

How it compares

  1. MANTSBaltimore, 11K
  2. This show: ProGreen ExpoDenver, 5,000
  3. Farwest ShowPortland, 4,000
  4. Equip ExpositionLouisville, 30K

ProGreen is the largest green industry gathering in the Rocky Mountain states, so the real comparison is with national shows that mean a flight and more days away.

MANTS in Baltimore falls in the same month and draws about 11,000 attendees. It is the better trip for a garden center or landscape buyer who wants the widest choice of East Coast growers and new plants in one hall, with learning built into the show floor.

Farwest Show in Portland each August is the West's nursery and greenhouse marketplace, with 326 exhibitors and about 4,000 attendees in 2025. A buyer sourcing container stock and trees in volume from Pacific Northwest growers will find more of them there; ProGreen brings a selection of those growers to Denver in January, when spring orders are being placed.

Equip Exposition in Louisville each October is the national show for mowers and outdoor power equipment, with about 30,000 visitors in 2025, and suits dealers and large contractors comparing fleets.

ProGreen is the right choice when the goal is the regional market itself: meeting Front Range contractors, municipal buyers and garden centers, seeing local distributors and dealers, and earning Colorado certification credits in the same trip.

The January trip for Rocky Mountain landscape contractors, growers, garden centers and arborists who want to meet their suppliers, earn certification credits and set up the spring season in Denver.

Who exhibits

Plant material dominates. Wholesale nurseries and tree farms form the largest group, from Colorado growers such as Fort Collins Wholesale Nursery to national shippers like Bailey Nurseries, Monrovia and J. Frank Schmidt. Irrigation is the next big block, with Hunter Industries, Rain Bird and Ewing Irrigation Products, followed by hardscape suppliers such as Belgard and mower makers including Scag, The Toro Company and Colorado-built Walker Mowers. Local equipment dealers, sod farms and landscape supply yards fill out the floor.

ProGreen Expo 2027

The 2027 show adds a Cut Flower Courtyard on the floor, a space for cut flower growers, breeders and designers, with the American Floral Alliance as its lead sponsor. The product and equipment demo area returns with half-hour exhibitor slots, and the Potting Challenge holds qualifying rounds on both floor days before a Thursday final.

Wednesday evening brings the two main industry gatherings: the ALCC member reception a few blocks from the convention center and the CNGA Industry Celebration at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, where the nursery association presents its awards and scholarships.

  • Tuesday is education only and the hall stays closed, so put supplier meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, the only floor days.
  • The ALCC reception on Wednesday evening is open to any green industry professional with a badge and is the easiest place to meet Colorado contractors outside the hall.
  • Exhibitors receive a code that gives their customers free floor-only entry, so ask a supplier for one before buying an EXPO-only pass.
  • Membership in any of the seven partner associations, including ISA Rocky Mountain Chapter and ASLA Colorado, qualifies for member rates, and group rates apply only to members.

Exhibiting

A standard 10 x 10 booth comes with two full conference registrations, unlimited floor-only passes for staff and a code that lets customers in free. Members of the partner associations pay lower booth rates, and booths are paid in full by early August. Sponsorship spending earns an earlier booth selection appointment for the following year. Taking a stand pays off most for suppliers selling into Colorado and the neighboring states ahead of spring.
