It runs every two years at Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. FPT, the Dutch trade association for production technology, owns it, and Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs organizes it. The show marked its 75th anniversary in 2026.

Its visitors come from Dutch and Flemish manufacturing: job shops, machine builders, metalworkers and suppliers to the high-tech, semiconductor and defense chains. The 2024 show drew 29,337 visitors and 276 exhibitors. In 2026 TechniShow and the co-located ESEF Maakindustrie together counted 24,664 professionals.

Jaarbeurs now puts quality of audience ahead of size, and it has drawn TechniShow and ESEF Maakindustrie closer together. Machine buyers and parts buyers walk one floor on one ticket, and themed squares on the factory of the future, defense, semiconductors and green manufacturing tie the floor to what Dutch industry is investing in.

How it compares

  1. MachineeringBrussels, every two years
  2. ESEF MaakindustrieUtrecht, 13K
  3. This show: TechniShowUtrecht, every two years
  4. EMO HannoverHannover, every two years
  5. EuroBLECH HannoverHanover, every two years
  6. METAVAKGorinchem, 5,000
  7. Precisiebeurs's-Hertogenbosch, 6,500

ESEF Maakindustrie is part of the same trip. It holds subcontracting and component supply in the next hall, so one visit covers both a machine purchase and a supplier search.

In the Netherlands the main choice is between TechniShow and the smaller annual fairs. METAVAK in Gorinchem, held each October with Welding Week, has about 150 exhibitors and fills the years when TechniShow is off. Precisiebeurs serves precision engineering and the high-tech supply chain, with around 400 exhibitors expected, and suits engineers sourcing precision parts and specialist know-how.

For Belgian buyers, Machineering covers machine building and production technology in odd years with 147 exhibitors in 2025, so the two alternate year by year.

EMO Hannover and EuroBLECH Hannover, with 1,317 exhibitors in 2024, are where manufacturers launch and show full ranges. They are the right trips for comparing global brands side by side. TechniShow is where a Benelux company meets the local importer or subsidiary that will quote, install and service the machine, in Dutch, a train ride from home.

TechniShow is the trip for Dutch and Flemish manufacturers who want to see machine tools, sheet metal equipment and automation running and to deal directly with the Benelux companies that sell and service them.

Who exhibits

Most exhibitors are the Benelux arms of machine and tool brands, such as DMG MORI, TRUMPF, FANUC, Okuma and Bystronic, alongside importers like Landré Machines, Wolthuis Machines and Klaassen that sell several makes. Metrology is a strong block, with Mitutoyo, Zeiss, Renishaw and Heidenhain, and so is CAM software, with Mastercam and OPEN MIND. Dutch automation builders such as Valk Welding, RoboJob and Cellro show cells that load machines unattended.

TechniShow 2028

TechniShow returns to Jaarbeurs in 2028, again with ESEF Maakindustrie on the same floor and ticket. Stand sales are open and the first confirmed exhibitors include DNA LASER Benelux, which sold two machines at the 2026 show, Leering Hengelo, Core Industrial and 4C Creative CAD CAM Consultants.

The 2026 show, the 75th anniversary, opened with the signing of a manifesto. The FPT Factory of the Future square had 22 exhibitors, its largest yet, and Main Stage sessions on defense and on women in manufacturing were well attended.

  • Thursday is the late opening, the easiest day for production managers and engineers who are needed on the shop floor during working hours.
  • TechniShow's machine and technology suppliers fill halls 7, 8 and 10 to 12, and ESEF Maakindustrie's subcontractors and component makers sit in hall 9. Plan a supplier search and a machine visit for the same day.
  • Stop at the FPT Factory of the Future square, where member companies link machines, robots and software from different suppliers into one working production line. It is the clearest view on the floor of how the brands work together.
  • Start-up Street and Career Street have their own colors on the floor plan and demo space in front of each stand. They are the place to find young suppliers and to meet students and technical schools when hiring.

Exhibiting

Stands are sold per square meter of bare floor as row, corner, head or island positions, and each stand comes with a required participation package aimed at branding, leads or both. Jaarbeurs offers complete stand packages, and own-build stands start at 20 square meters. A 25 percent deposit is due when the contract is signed, and FPT-VIMAG members get discounts on floor space and energy. The show pays off most for importers and builders who can bring a running machine, because live demonstrations are what visitors come for.
