How it compares

MTA Vietnam is the closest rival in the same city. It runs each July with 435 exhibitors and 13,142 trade visitors last year, and it leans toward machine tools, metrology and subcontracting. A buyer upgrading machining capacity or looking for precision parts suppliers gets a tighter field there. Vinamac Expo is wider: general machinery, welding, steel, fasteners, hand tools and bearings sit side by side, and Chinese provincial groups bring a lot of price-competitive supply.

In the north, MTA Hanoi and Vinamac's own May show in Hanoi cover the Red River Delta factory belt. A company selling nationwide can cover the north in May and the south in November, since the two regions usually buy through different distributors.

METALEX in Bangkok, a week earlier in November, is the regional heavyweight for metalworking and the better place to compare global machine tool brands. Vinamac is the choice when the goal is Vietnamese customers and agents. Vinachem Expo runs in the same complex on the same days, which suits plant buyers who also source chemicals, coatings or adhesives.

Vinamac Expo is the right trip for machinery, welding, tooling and automation suppliers looking for distributors and factory customers in southern Vietnam, and for Vietnamese buyers comparing Chinese and regional supply in one place.

Who exhibits

The floor is split roughly evenly between Vietnamese and foreign exhibitors. This year a Shandong provincial group of more than 60 companies takes 78 booths in Hall A, including 16 bearing makers from the Linqing cluster, laser cutting and welding machines, compressors, hydraulic cylinders, steel and aluminum. Japanese firms come through prefectural programs: Tokuden showed induction heating systems and Nissho Precision Vietnam its film and laser processing last year. The city's industry department runs a central pavilion of local manufacturers.

Vinamac Expo 2026

The 24th Vinamac Expo adds a materials section covering magnetic materials, adhesives, thermal management and lightweight materials alongside the usual machinery, automation and metalworking areas. The opening afternoon is Ho Chi Minh City Automation Day, with a smart factory forum and the 30th anniversary of the city's automation association. The Saigon welding event returns on day two with its welding skills contest and live demonstrations, and a robotics and AI seminar closes the program on the final morning.

• Chinese suppliers meet Vietnamese buyers at a business matching session on the Hall B2 stage on the second morning, and the Shandong group keeps its own meeting area in Hall A.
• Professional groups traveling from outside Ho Chi Minh City can get lunch, transport and, from 350 km away, hotel support from the organizer; send the delegation list to the secretariat ahead of the show.
• The second afternoon includes an organized visit to a mechanical plant in Dong Nai, a useful look at local production for foreign suppliers.
• Vinachem Expo, Vietnam Medi-Pharm and VietLab fill other SECC halls on the same days, so check the hall before heading off.

Exhibiting

Space is sold as 9 square meter shell booths or raw space from 18 square meters, and raw space designs need organizer approval. The standard package covers walls, fascia, furniture, power, badges and a directory listing. The show pays off for suppliers looking for Vietnamese agents and distributors: the organizer runs two days of business matching built around that goal, plus a separate session pairing Vietnamese and Chinese companies.
