Neuromodulation and emerging analgesics sit alongside opioid management, integrative medicine, reimbursement and team development. That combination makes the meeting useful to clinicians who need to judge a treatment and understand how it fits into everyday care.
The audience includes pain physicians, residents and fellows, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and nurses. Workshops address ultrasound and fluoroscopy techniques, while problem-based discussions work through difficult clinical and professional situations. The Educational Excellence program adds mentoring and teaching skills. Research appears through ePosters and moderated presentations, and ASRA Pain Medicine Debates give competing views room to be examined. The exhibition and its networking reception connect this clinical program with the companies supplying pain treatments, imaging equipment and practice services.
How it compares
- NANS Annual MeetingLas Vegas
- This show: 25th Annual Pain Medicine MeetingTampa, 1,100
NANS Annual Meeting is the more concentrated choice for neuromodulation. Its program brings pain specialists together with neurosurgeons, neurologists, researchers and engineers, with device development and procedural training at the center. A company working primarily on stimulation technology can address that specialist community across several clinical disciplines. ASRA’s fall meeting places neuromodulation beside drug therapy, other interventions, integrative care and the practical questions that shape a pain clinic.
ASRA Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Meeting serves a different part of the same professional community. Regional blocks, perioperative care, acute pain and point-of-care ultrasound drive its program. It is the closer fit for teams whose work centers on surgical pathways and anesthesia services. The fall meeting gives chronic pain practitioners more room for longitudinal treatment, practice management and the difficult cases that continue after hospital discharge.
The choice follows the clinical problem. NANS offers depth across the neuromodulation field; ASRA’s spring meeting concentrates on regional anesthesia and acute care. The fall meeting brings a wider range of chronic pain options into contact with the clinicians, educators and practice teams who use them.
ASRA’s fall meeting suits pain specialists who want to connect procedural choices, emerging treatments and the day-to-day realities of running a clinic.
Who exhibits
Recent exhibitors such as Medtronic, Boston Scientific and Nevro show the importance of neuromodulation, while Fujifilm Sonosite, GE Healthcare and Mindray bring the imaging side of procedural care into view. Pacira BioSciences and Vertex Pharmaceuticals represent the pharmaceutical end of the mix. Alongside these suppliers are practice services, medical publishers and professional organizations. The result is a clinical supply ecosystem, with conversations shaped by treatment selection, workflow and the needs of pain practices.

25th Annual Pain Medicine Meeting 2026
The 2026 program uses “Making Waves: Turning the Tide in Pain Medicine” to examine new treatments alongside the barriers to putting evidence into practice. Tina Doshi and Ariana Nelson lead a program that combines cannabinoids and novel analgesics with advanced interventions, educational leadership and practice management. A Military and VA symposium brings integrated pain care into focus. The social program includes a PM&R Think Tank, an art exhibit on pain, a trainee Quiz Bowl and a meeting with the RAPM editor.
- Pair a neuromodulation or spine intervention workshop with a pain medicine debate to compare procedural training with competing clinical perspectives.
- Use the Practice Management Portfolio for reimbursement and team questions, then the Educational Excellence program for teaching and mentoring.
- For a research project, the Meet the Editor session offers a direct discussion of RAPM’s editorial review and the path to publication.
