How it compares

Automechanika Shanghai is the much larger event, with 7,465 exhibitors and 253,691 visitors in 2025, and it covers the whole Chinese parts supply chain for a global buying audience. A buyer who wants to compare every major Chinese parts maker in one trip, or an exporter looking for distributors worldwide, should go to Shanghai in December.

AMR suits a narrower purpose. Workshop equipment, diagnostics and repair is its core sector, and its visitors are the distributors, repair shop owners and technicians of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Suppliers of lifts, wheel service machines, paint booths and diagnostic tools meet more of their end users here than at a parts-led show. Because it runs in spring, months after Shanghai, it also works as a follow-up meeting with northern dealers.

CAPAS in Chengdu, also run by Messe Frankfurt, serves the same aftermarket trade in Southwest China each spring. A supplier building distribution in Sichuan and Chongqing will find more of those buyers there than in Beijing.

Automechanika Frankfurt is where Chinese manufacturers meet European and global buyers every two years. AMR is the yearly show for reaching China's own service trade and the buyers from Russia, Central Asia and Southeast Asia who come to source workshop equipment from Chinese makers.

AMR is the right trip for workshop equipment, diagnostics and parts suppliers who want to meet North China's distributors and repair shops, and for buyers from Russia, Central Asia and Southeast Asia sourcing service equipment from Chinese makers.

Who exhibits

Workshop equipment is the core of the show. In 2026 Nexion showed Corghi and Bright wheel service and lifting equipment, and Yantai Haide brought SUNSHINE alignment systems that let one technician calibrate ADAS sensors. TecAlliance China, MIRKA and SAGOLA exhibited alongside Chinese parts makers such as Ironstamp. The commercial vehicle zone added trucks from Foton, Dongfeng Trucks and JAC and autonomous delivery vans from NEOLIX. Parts and components makers are the largest exhibitor group, followed by diagnostics and repair.

Auto Maintenance and Repair Expo 2027

The 2027 show moves from April to March and stays at the Capital International Exhibition & Convention Center, using three halls and 80,000 square meters. The organizers expect more than 1,500 exhibitors, up from 1,385 in 2026. Alongside maintenance and repair, the program adds smart logistics and electric commercial vehicles, and policy sessions on the auto industry and its supply chain. It will be the 75th AMR.

• The halls are split by trade. B1 holds workshop equipment, body and paint, B2 testing and diagnostics, car care and accessories, and B3 parts, new energy vehicle technology and the commercial vehicle zone. Parts buyers can start in B3 and equipment buyers in B1.
• Every visitor registers in advance with a real name and passport number, and the original passport is checked at the entrance, so foreign visitors need to carry theirs.
• The venue is beside Beijing Capital Airport, far from central Beijing. The main aftermarket conference in 2026 was held at an airport hotel the day before opening, so staying near the airport saves a long daily commute.
• The final day closes early and many stands pack up that afternoon, so plan exhibitor meetings for the first two days.

Exhibiting

Stands are sold by the square meter, as standard stands or as raw space for larger custom builds, and a stand is allocated only once full payment arrives. Sponsorship and on-site advertising, from badges and lanyards to entrance billboards, are sold separately. The show pays off for equipment, diagnostics and parts makers selling to distributors and repair chains in North China, and for exporters who want buyers from Russia, Central Asia and Southeast Asia.
