In 2026 it filled its exhibition floor with 220 exhibitors and recorded 18,335 visits. Suppliers meet workshop professionals across passenger cars and heavy vehicles, with tires, body repair and paint represented alongside diagnostics, spare parts and digital tools.

The show belongs to the industry's own associations, Fordonsverkstadsutrustarna and Svenska Fordonsbranschen. That connection gives its agenda a practical service-business emphasis. The latest show put skills supply, digitalization and preparedness alongside product demonstrations. Its new Prova på branschen area let visitors try workshop tasks, while the student program brought vehicle technology students into contact with the trade. Seminars are delivered in Swedish, making Automässan particularly useful for teams working in the Swedish service market. The show returns every three years, so it concentrates supplier introductions, technical learning and industry relationships into one Nordic meeting.

How it compares

  1. This show: AutomässanGothenburg, every three years
  2. AutomessenLillestrøm, every three years
  3. Automechanika FrankfurtFrankfurt am Main, every two years

Automechanika Frankfurt is the larger international comparison. Its 2026 show attracted more than 112,000 trade visitors from 173 countries. Frankfurt is the stronger choice for an export team building distributor coverage, a wholesaler comparing global parts manufacturers, or a technology business looking beyond the Nordic market. Its September slot and biennial cycle give aftermarket buyers a different planning rhythm from Automässan's January return every three years.

Automessen in Lillestrøm provides a closer comparison for a workshop-focused visit. The Norwegian show runs every three years in February and reported 10,428 visitors in 2025. Workshop equipment, diagnostics, parts, tires and body repair all feature, with EV and charging suppliers also in the mix. It is the more direct trip when Norwegian customers, local suppliers and the Norwegian workshop conversation are the priority.

Automässan earns its place when the task is to understand Nordic service operations through a Swedish workshop lens. Light and heavy vehicle systems share the exhibition with repair equipment and consumables, and the Swedish-language program connects buying decisions to staffing and workshop development. A visitor can move from a technical supplier discussion to the industry's skills questions within the same event.

Automässan is the right trip for Nordic workshop teams and suppliers who need Swedish service-market relationships alongside practical equipment, parts and skills discussions.

Who exhibits

Autocom and Amring illustrate the show's range: diagnostics sits alongside tires and wheels. The two segments share the exhibition. The wider mix spans spare parts, accessories, workshop equipment, digital systems, body and paint, and support for both light and heavy vehicles. For a workshop buyer, that makes the floor a place to compare how suppliers fit into a repair operation, from the diagnostic task through replacement parts and tire service to the systems that support the business.

Automässan 2029

Automässan returns in 2029 after a sold-out 2026 show. The last event combined supplier demonstrations with digitalization, preparedness and skills supply, and introduced Prova på branschen as a hands-on route into workshop careers. More than 1,000 vehicle technology students took part in its student program. For the next show, stand booking is open with progressive space rates and separate mandatory base and insurance fees. The supplier exhibition remains the center of the event.

  • Bring a Swedish-speaking technical colleague if seminars are central to your visit; the show's seminar program is delivered in Swedish.
  • For a workshop servicing both cars and commercial vehicles, compare light and heavy vehicle support systems together with diagnostic and repair equipment; both vehicle segments belong to Automässan's scope.

Exhibiting

The stand application sets a minimum footprint and charges space in progressive area bands. Expostart and exhibitor insurance are mandatory additions, while elevated advertising and co-exhibitors have separate charges. The application is binding and its cancellation terms matter well before the show. Suppliers of workshop equipment, parts and service systems can use the event to demonstrate their place in Nordic repair operations.
