The BIBA Conference 2027

The BIBA Conference brings the UK insurance broker market together in Manchester: major insurers, specialist underwriting businesses, premium finance providers and the companies that run brokerage software.

Its commercial center is distribution. Brokers come to discuss risk appetite and trading relationships with providers they already use, while comparing specialist markets for business that falls outside standard products.

BIBA has organized the conference since 1978. The audience carries real buying influence: more than 80% of delegates at the 2026 conference had responsibility for, or influence over, purchasing decisions. The exhibition sits alongside a program that connects broking practice with cyber risk, claims, AI and personal and commercial lines. Young Broker Day adds career development to that trading focus. For a brokerage, the value lies in bringing placement, operations and leadership conversations into the same trip; for an insurer or MGA, it is access to the people who distribute its products.

How it compares

  2. This show: The BIBA ConferenceManchester, 10K
  3. Broker ExpoBirmingham

Broker Expo is the closest UK comparison. Its Birmingham autumn event concentrates insurers, MGAs and service providers into a single day, with practical learning through the Insurance Academy. It suits a broker who wants a focused update on market appetite, operational efficiency and digital trading without committing to a larger conference trip. The overlap in providers is useful: Aviva, CFC, Acturis and Premium Credit appear in both shows’ exhibitor lists.

insureNXT in Cologne addresses a different buying problem. It brings insurers together with start-ups, service providers and businesses outside insurance to work on technological, cultural and strategic change. In 2026 it drew 4,000 participants. Its masterclasses and roundtables suit transformation teams and companies building insurance partnerships across industries. BIBA gives a supplier a more direct route to UK broker distribution.

The choice depends on who needs to be in the room. Broker Expo is a compact trading and learning stop on the UK calendar. insureNXT puts innovation partnerships at the center. BIBA combines the breadth of a broker marketplace with association leadership, technical sessions and career development, making it particularly relevant when a team needs to work on several insurer and supplier relationships together.

BIBA is the right trip for UK brokers comparing insurer appetite and for insurers, MGAs and suppliers whose growth depends on broker distribution.

Who exhibits

Aviva and AXA anchor a mix that extends well beyond large insurers. CFC brings specialist risk expertise, while Acturis and Open GI connect the exhibition to the systems used inside a brokerage. Premium Credit adds the financing side of placing insurance. That combination makes BIBA useful for teams reviewing both coverage and the machinery of distribution. The visitor can move from underwriting conversations to software, claims support and premium finance without leaving the broker market.

The BIBA Conference 2027

BIBA 2027 returns to Manchester Central with its exhibition floor plan launched and stand sales underway. The published exhibitor mix brings established insurers together with specialist underwriting and brokerage technology. Young Broker Day returns alongside the main conference. It follows a 2026 program that introduced the Men’s Mental Health Breakfast and addressed cyber protection, responsible AI adoption and the changing relationship between brokers and underwriters.

  • Compare Acturis and Open GI alongside Premium Credit when reviewing brokerage operations: the software and premium finance conversations address different parts of the same customer placement workflow.
  • For specialist placements, put CFC and Lloyd’s on the same working list as Aviva and AXA; the exhibition brings specialty markets and mainstream insurer relationships together.

Exhibiting

Shell Scheme and Space Only packages both include a standard electrical allowance, cleaning and staff places linked to stand size. Show Ready adds graphics and furniture. The Fringe Stage gives exhibitors a workshop format in the Exhibition Hall, while private onsite meeting rooms support discussions that need more privacy than a stand.
