It shares the site and the ticket with LOGISTICS & AUTOMATION Hamburg and all about automation Hamburg, so a visitor can follow a product from the packing table to the conveyor and the control cabinet.
The audience is made up of people who buy and specify packaging for their own operations: managing directors, warehouse and logistics heads, buyers, plant managers and packaging engineers from machinery, chemicals, food, logistics and retail. In 2026 EMPACK and its intralogistics partner drew 1,744 trade visitors, 31 percent more than in 2025, and 91 percent of surveyed visitors take part in purchasing decisions. Airbus, Beiersdorf, Tchibo, tesa and Lufthansa Technik were among the visiting companies.
The show moved from a hall in Hamburg-Schnelsen to the city-center fairground in 2025, and attendance rose the following year. Packaging regulation is a fixed theme, with sessions on the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation drawing full rooms.

FACHPACK in Nuremberg is the full-scale German packaging fair, with about 1,400 exhibitors and 32,000 visitors in 2025. A team that has to compare many machine builders or materials suppliers side by side, including foreign ones, gets far more choice there. EMPACK Hamburg works for companies in the north that want to meet the regional suppliers and distributors who already deliver to their sites, in a day trip.
Interpack in Düsseldorf, held every three years, drew 125,089 visitors in 2026 and is where complete processing and packaging lines are bought from global suppliers. That is a different decision from sorting out cartons, void fill, strapping or a coding printer, which is what most Hamburg visitors come for.
EMPACK Dortmund runs the same format in February for North Rhine-Westphalia and drew around 2,600 visitors and more than 130 exhibitors in 2025. For companies in the Rhine-Ruhr area it is the closer choice; the Hamburg show draws on the port, logistics and manufacturing base of northern Germany.
The two fairs on the same site complete the picture. Visitors whose packaging project involves conveyors, palletizing or line controls can cover LOGISTICS & AUTOMATION Hamburg and all about automation Hamburg on the same badge.
EMPACK Hamburg is the right trip for buyers, logistics managers and production staff in northern Germany who want to meet regional packaging suppliers and see end-of-line equipment in a single day.
Who exhibits
The 2026 floor was led by suppliers of transport and protective packaging and the distributors who stock it, such as Antalis Verpackungen, Rajapack, Storopack, Knüppel Verpackung, Huwald Liebschner and Safe Pack Solutions. Labeling and coding came from HERMA, Domino Deutschland, Nordwind Etiketten and EBS Ink Jet Systeme, and strapping equipment from Cyklop and Mosca. Paper-based cushioning and molded fiber from Papair and Pulp-Tec reflect the move toward recyclable packaging. Visitors meet sales staff who cover northern Germany.

EMPACK Hamburg 2027
The 2027 show keeps the setup that lifted attendance in 2026: two days in Hall B6 at Hamburg Messe, with LOGISTICS & AUTOMATION and all about automation on the same ticket. EMPACK has taken on a new brand design for both its Dortmund and Hamburg shows.
The Insights Stage program covers AI and automation, sustainable packaging, ergonomics and the PPWR, with all talks held in German.
