Its 2025 show attracted more than 32,000 visitors from 91 countries and around 1,400 exhibitors. International visitors made up 37 percent of the audience, giving the Nuremberg fair a European customer base alongside its German industrial core. Food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemicals and logistics all feed into the demand on the floor.

The useful breadth is between the pack and the line that makes, fills, labels and moves it. Paper and plastic converters share the show with inspection specialists, automation suppliers and palletizing equipment makers. That makes FACHPACK relevant to packaging developers and production teams working on the same project. Its Transition in Packaging theme puts material change, digitalization and EU regulation into that practical setting. Established suppliers sit alongside newcomers and alternative packaging concepts, so a visit can compare a production-ready solution with the next material or process under consideration.

How it compares

  1. InterpackDüsseldorf, every three years
  2. This show: FachPackNürnberg

Interpack in Düsseldorf is the larger global comparison for processing and packaging investment. Its 2026 show drew 125,089 visitors, and its range extends into confectionery, bakery and pharmaceutical production machinery. It is a stronger choice when the brief is a major production line, a global vendor comparison or customers across several continents. FACHPACK concentrates the discussion on European packaging users, with materials, converting and machinery close enough to compare within one project. For a team changing a pack while adapting its filling, inspection or logistics process, that combination is a clear reason to choose Nuremberg.

Packaging Innovations & Empack in Birmingham puts UK packaging development, machinery and outsourced packing together. Its 2026 show welcomed 8,021 unique visitors. The contract packing and fulfilment offer makes it particularly useful to a brand scaling production through external partners, while the design and materials side serves product launches. Its usual February slot gives UK teams an earlier supplier conversation; FACHPACK occupies the autumn European calendar and brings a wider continental industrial mix. The choice turns on the customer geography and the project: UK brand development and outsourcing in Birmingham, or materials and production technology for European manufacturing in Nuremberg.

FACHPACK suits European packaging teams that need to compare the material, the machine and the process together.

Who exhibits

Beckhoff brings control systems and automation into the packaging discussion, while Bizerba connects weighing, inspection and labeling. 3M adds carton sealing, handles and adhesive tapes. Their presence illustrates why the fair is useful beyond purchasing an empty pack: visitors can follow a packaging change into handling, identification and line performance. The material offer spans paper, board, flexible and molded plastics, glass, metal and alternative substrates, alongside printing, finishing and logistics suppliers.

FachPack 2027

FACHPACK 2027 develops Transition in Packaging around digitalization, EU regulation, material innovation and sustainability. The floor separates technology and processing from packaging materials and processing, giving line engineers and packaging developers distinct starting points. Flexible and molded plastics occupy halls 4, 5 and 6, while paper and board have dedicated areas in 4A and 7A. Hall 7 brings these materials together with alternative and sustainable packaging. The exhibitor evening adds a setting for supplier conversations beyond the stands.

  • For filling, inspection and automation, start in the technology cluster: halls 1, 2, 3, 3A and 3C. Bizerba and Beckhoff are both in hall 1.
  • Compare paper and board suppliers in halls 4A and 7A, then use hall 7 to test alternatives against plastic and fiber options in the same discussion.
  • If adhesives are part of a line change, include hall 2: its offer pairs adhesive technology with packaging and filling machines.

Exhibiting

FACHPACK gives material suppliers and machinery builders access to the same European manufacturing projects. The space rental comes with separate compulsory AUMA, waste and marketing charges, while complete rental stands and utilities are booked separately. Direct exhibitors receive a badge quota tied to stand size; co-exhibitors have a separate participation package. The strongest stand proposition connects a pack or machine to its effect on filling, inspection, identification or material use.
