Its five specialist exhibitions connect decisions that often sit in separate departments: factory data and software at SMART FACTORY Expo, robots and autonomous transport at RoboDEX, energy and resource efficiency at GREEN FACTORY Expo, workforce solutions at Manufacturing Industry's HR Expo, and working conditions at Factory Safety & Accessibility Expo.

The useful distinction is the range of operating problems covered. A manufacturer weighing automation can also examine recruitment, skills transfer, energy management, and safer manual work. The product mix reaches beyond automotive and electronics into machinery, food, medicine, and cosmetics. RoboDEX also covers service robots and logistics applications.

FIW shares its Tokyo setting with AUTOMOTIVE WORLD and NEPCON JAPAN, placing factory improvement alongside automotive engineering and electronics production. That overlap makes it particularly relevant to teams whose investment decisions cross production technology and the products their plants manufacture.

How it compares

  1. This show: Factory Innovation WeekTokyo, 88K
  2. Factory Innovation Week OsakaOsaka, 33K
  3. International Robot Exhibition (iREX)Tokyo, every two years

International Robot Exhibition (iREX) concentrates more of the trip on robotics. Its production and community robot fields sit alongside component technologies, system integrators, parts feeders, and logistics systems. A robot developer comparing sensing, drives, and integration partners has a strong reason to choose that specialist setting. FIW gives a factory team more room to compare robotics with software, staffing, energy, and safety measures in one program.

Manufacturing World Tokyo covers a broader sourcing brief, including mechanical components, design software, contract manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and measurement. It suits engineers who need production partners or parts as well as factory technology. FIW is especially useful when the brief begins with how an existing plant operates and connects technical investment with organizational needs.

The family also offers Factory Innovation Week Osaka for western Japan and Factory Innovation Week Nagoya for a separate Aichi-area itinerary. Tokyo's distinctive draw is the simultaneous automotive and electronics program. Choosing among the regional FIW shows therefore starts with customer geography and the adjacent industries a supplier needs to meet.

FIW Tokyo suits manufacturing teams that need to evaluate robots, factory software, workforce solutions, energy efficiency, and safety together.

Who exhibits

Past FIW exhibitors include FANUC, Mitsubishi Electric, PTC Japan, Siemens, and UT Technology. That combination points to a floor where automation hardware, industrial software, and workforce services share the conversation. The specialist shows add recruitment and training suppliers, energy-management systems, resource-recovery technologies, safety equipment, and exosuits. For a production team, the exhibitor mix supports a discussion about the whole factory and its operating priorities. It also makes the show relevant to HR and safety colleagues alongside engineers.

Factory Innovation Week 2027

The 2027 Tokyo winter show moves from January to February and presents five factory themes. Alongside SMART FACTORY Expo, RoboDEX, and GREEN FACTORY Expo, the program includes Manufacturing Industry's HR Expo and Factory Safety & Accessibility Expo. Recruitment, skills management, safety training, emergency monitoring, and lifting aids widen the discussion beyond equipment and software. For manufacturers, that makes the trip relevant to colleagues responsible for staffing and working conditions as well as production engineering.

  • For a labor-shortage project, compare RoboDEX's automation offer with the recruitment, reskilling, and technical knowledge-transfer tools at Manufacturing Industry's HR Expo.
  • For factory decarbonization, GREEN FACTORY Expo's FEMS, resource circulation, and heat/water recovery categories provide a more specific route than a robotics-only visit.
  • Use the neighboring AUTOMOTIVE WORLD and NEPCON JAPAN programs when the factory project also involves automotive products or electronics production.

Exhibiting

Applications are allocated in order of submission and close when the available space is taken. Rental Display packages include furniture, electrical service, and construction and removal. Exhibitors can also purchase in-hall Product/Technology Seminar slots. The strongest fit is a supplier whose proposition connects factory technology with an operating problem represented by one of FIW's specialist shows.

How a brief is made

  1. Tell us your goals

A short interview: what you want from Factory Innovation Week and which kinds of partners you are after.

  2. We research each company, one by one

For each company: what it makes, who it sells to, how it fits your goals and who buys there. Then we compare them side by side and rank the ones worth your time.

  3. Walk in with a plan

A ranked list, a deep dive on each of your top picks, the people to meet and a strategy deck, all before the doors open.
