The range is unusually broad: aquaculture, railway maintenance, medical research and folding furniture all appeared among the prize-winning projects. This is a meeting point for inventors and people who can help turn their work into products, licenses or distribution agreements.
Universities, research institutions, companies and independent inventors share the exhibition with a public audience. Expert jury assessment sits alongside innovation conferences, round tables and science workshops, giving the show a different rhythm from a sector-specific procurement fair. Established in 1972 and organized by Palexpo SA, Geneva combines international institutional delegations with individual projects. The Swiss Pavilion and the Young Talents junior competition broadened that mix in 2026. For a technology scout, its value lies in seeing commercially ambitious research across fields and meeting the people behind it.
How it compares
- This show: Salon International des Inventions de GenèveGeneva, 31K
- EPHJGeneva, 20K
- iENANuremberg
iENA in Nuremberg is the closest alternative for an inventor seeking manufacturers, distribution partners or a route to commercialization. Its autumn setting brings inventions together with the Hack & Make creativity and technology fair and the surrounding Consumenta consumer event. With more than 274 exhibitors in 2025, iENA offers a more compact international inventor market. Environmental protection, energy technology and mobility are prominent themes. It is a useful choice when public feedback and the German inventor community are central to the project.
EPHJ, held in Geneva in June, answers a more focused manufacturing question. Its suppliers serve watchmaking, jewelry, microtechnology and medtech, and its audience includes international buyers and decision-makers. A business selecting precision production partners has a clearer sector fit there; a research team looking for interest in an invention across several possible applications has a broader setting at Inventions Geneva.
Geneva's distinction is the combination of institutional research, individual inventions and international jury recognition in a spring exhibition. The invention itself is the unit of interest, even when a university or national body represents many projects. That makes it particularly useful for licensing and technology scouting across industries. The commercial sales area also allows a different kind of participation, with separate rules from the judged invention stands.
Inventions Geneva suits technology scouts, licensees and research teams whose next commercial partner may come from outside their own industry.
Who exhibits
The 2026 participants show how widely Geneva casts its net. MTR Corporation brought Acoustic GearGuard for railway maintenance, while The Oasis One International presented a marine finfish aquaculture solution. Stooly's folding furniture sat alongside university research, including projects from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. National institutions and inventor associations can represent numerous distinct teams. Visitors can compare individual inventions, their potential applications and the research teams offering them for commercialization.

Salon International des Inventions de Genève 2027
Inventions Geneva 2027 follows a show that introduced the Young Talents junior competition and put Swiss start-ups and SMEs alongside international research delegations. Participation again includes routes for independent inventors, companies and institutions, and for schools and organizations working with young inventors. The professional route centers on prototypes or manufactured products protected by intellectual property rights. That preserves the show's combination of invention assessment, commercialization and public discovery, with youth projects adding a distinct educational strand.
- Look beyond the institution's name in the catalog: national delegations and universities represent separate invention teams, with their own descriptions and booth references.
- Use the invention stands for jury-assessed projects and the commercial sales area for products offered for purchase; these are separate participation routes.
- The public-choice award recognizes public appeal, while specialist jury prizes recognize expert evaluation. Use the invention’s application to guide your shortlist.
Exhibiting
Choose the invention route if you want a prototype or protected product evaluated by the expert jury. Commercial stands offer a separate route for exhibitors primarily selling products. The published packages combine stand construction with a bilingual invention description, while fuller packages add furniture and services. For a university or institution representing several teams, the individual invention entries matter as much as the umbrella exhibitor name.
