It runs twice a year, in March and August, on the 7th floor and part of the 4th floor of The Mart on the Chicago River, with more than 400 designers and about 2,500 attendees per market, including buyers from 28 countries.

The floor covers everything a bridal store sells: gowns, bridesmaids, curvy collections, flower girls, prom, quinceañera, men's formalwear, veils, shoes and jewelry, plus retail software and packaging suppliers. Stores range from moderate to couture price points, and the days are built around booked appointments with the brands a salon already carries, with time left to walk the aisles for new labels.

The market turned 50 in August 2026 and is still adding space: the 4th floor opened to make room for large houses such as Justin Alexander and Allure Bridals.

How it compares

  1. This show: National Bridal Market ChicagoChicago, twice a year
  2. Barcelona Bridal Fashion WeekBarcelona, 24K
  3. European Bridal WeekEssen
  4. New York Bridal Market by One Fine DayNew York, twice a year

Chicago comes early in each buying season. The March and August markets land before the New York and European weeks, so a salon can write its core orders here and use the later shows for additions.

New York Bridal Market by One Fine Day runs during New York Bridal Fashion Week in April and October. It is smaller and curated around designer and luxury labels, and several names overlap with Chicago, among them Oksana Mukha, Ricca Sposa and Lis Simon. Boutiques at the upper end often attend both; a store buying mostly established American lines gets more done in Chicago.

European Bridal Week in Essen each April is the larger international gathering and the place to find European collections. Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week centers on runway launches from Spanish couture houses. Both suit a retailer hunting for European labels to set its store apart.

For prom, homecoming and quinceañera, Formal Markets at Atlanta Apparel is the main alternative, with permanent showrooms that stay open between markets. Chicago is the better trip for a store where bridal drives the business and prom is the second category, since both are on the same floors.

The right trip for North American bridal salon owners and buyers who want to write orders with their core gown, bridesmaid and prom suppliers in one building, twice a year.

Who exhibits

The list reads like the order book of an American bridal salon: Maggie Sottero, Morilee, Mon Cheri with labels such as Enchanting and Martin Thornburg, Lazaro, Watters, Casablanca Bridal and, on the 4th floor, Justin Alexander and Allure Bridals. Prom and evening houses such as Jovani, Johnathan Kayne and Rachel Allan show alongside them, and international names include Ricca Sposa and Oksana Mukha. Veil makers, tuxedo suppliers, BridalLive software and gown preservation services cover the rest of the store.

National Bridal Market Chicago 2027

The March 2027 market is the first after the 50th anniversary season, when the show opened its 4th floor and marked the milestone with a masquerade gala on Navy Pier. The current designer list places Justin Alexander, Allure Bridals, Sima Couture and Vladiyan Royal on the 4th floor and flags newcomers such as Peter Langner, Tina Valerdi and Keepsake Couture. The August market follows in the same building.

  • The 4th floor sits apart from the main 7th-floor show and holds Justin Alexander, Allure Bridals, Sima Couture and Vladiyan Royal; book those appointments back to back as one block on the same day.
  • Prom, quinceañera and men's formalwear suppliers such as Jovani, Rachel Allan and MFWTux are on the same floors as bridal, so a store can cover its prom buy on the same trip.
  • The Opening Night Party on the first evening at Marshall's Landing, inside The Mart, is free for registered buyers and exhibitors and is where reps and store owners meet outside their appointments.
  • Morning seminars on running a bridal store, including Mon Cheri Academy sessions, take place before the floor opens, so arrive early on the days you want to attend.

Exhibiting

Space is sold in all-inclusive hard-wall booth units of about 100 square feet, with lighting, racks, furniture, signage, a directory listing and daily exhibitor meals included, plus a marketing fee scaled to booth size. Exhibitors who showed the previous August pay a lower returning rate, which rewards brands that commit to both markets. Half the cost is due within ten business days of the contract and the rest 30 days before the show. It pays off for brands that sell to independent bridal and formalwear stores, who make up the buyer base.
