Its Bangor show draws buyers from Maine and New Hampshire, southern New England and eastern Canada; the annual rotation to Essex Junction brings Vermont and New York more directly into the mix. The 2026 Vermont show attracted around 5,000 attendees and nearly 150 exhibitors, combining machinery sales with the practical business of keeping forestry operations running.
Live equipment is central to the experience. Portable sawmills and firewood processors work alongside chainsaws, grinders and dealer displays, while parts, hydraulic systems, lubricants and finance sit within the same regional supply chain. The Northeastern Loggers' Association runs the show, with its Northern Logger magazine closely involved. This is a working forestry gathering where an owner can compare a major machine purchase, watch smaller processing equipment run and talk to the dealers who serve the Northeast.
How it compares
- This show: Northeastern Forest Products Equipment Exposition (The Loggers' Expo)Bangor, 4,850
- Timber Processing & Energy ExpoPortland, every two years
- The Paul Bunyan ShowCambridge, Ohio
The Paul Bunyan Show gives suppliers another route into the US forestry market, centered on Ohio. Its October gathering combines equipment demonstrations with lumberjack competitions, crafts and family activities. That wider public appeal suits brands whose products span professional logging and smaller private woodland or firewood operations. The Loggers' Expo is a more concentrated trip for a business whose customers and service territory sit in the Northeast and eastern Canada.
For capital projects inside a wood-products plant, Timber Processing & Energy Expo in Portland, Oregon, is the more specialized comparison. Its biennial September event covers sawmill machinery, panel production, drying, automation and wood-to-energy systems, placing mill engineers and production managers close to manufacturing suppliers. The Loggers' Expo brings the conversation back toward harvesting, hauling, portable processing and regional dealer support. It also reaches sawmill and firewood businesses, but its strongest advantage is the overlap between contractors, operators and equipment sellers serving the same forest-products economy. Choose Portland for an industrial production line, Ohio for the Midwest and a broader forestry audience, and Bangor or Essex Junction for Northeast field operations.
The Loggers' Expo is the right trip for Northeast forestry businesses comparing working equipment with the dealers and suppliers who serve their operations.
Who exhibits
The 2026 lineup put Milton CAT's loading equipment alongside Wood-Mizer's portable sawmills and Eastonmade's splitters and firewood processors. That range connects harvesting and hauling with the businesses that turn logs into lumber or fuel. Dealers, attachment suppliers, hydraulic specialists and finance providers fill out the picture. The mix rewards visitors who want to compare how a machine works and how it will be supported locally, tying operating performance to regional service.

Northeastern Forest Products Equipment Exposition (The Loggers' Expo) 2027
The 2027 show returns to Bangor after the Vermont gathering, with the Komatsu Forwarder Operator Challenge back on the program. The Cross Insurance Center layout divides the indoor displays between the arena and upstairs concourse, then extends outside for larger machinery and demonstration plots. Returning exhibitors from the previous Bangor show have the first opportunity to reclaim their spaces. The combination gives contractors a reason to assess operating skills alongside the equipment itself.
- For hands-on equipment comparisons, include the outdoor demonstration plots and the Komatsu Forwarder Operator Challenge in your route; the Bangor show extends well beyond its indoor booths.
- The arena is downstairs and the concourse upstairs. Group the indoor conversations by level before moving out to the heavier equipment displays.
Exhibiting
Bangor offers small concourse booths, arena booths and larger indoor or outdoor machinery plots. The reservation contract asks exhibitors to identify the equipment brands and whether they will run a live demo, with a deposit and later balance payment. Machinery exhibitors should resolve handling requirements before choosing the concourse level. Suppliers selling through Northeast dealers can show equipment and discuss regional support in the same setting.
