Its scale comes from bringing the investment and exploration sides of mining together: junior companies seeking finance, senior mining executives, geologists, governments promoting mineral jurisdictions, and the suppliers that turn exploration plans into fieldwork.
The Investors Exchange gives project owners a place to discuss financing, acquisitions and joint ventures, while the Trade Show and Trade Show North cover drilling, geophysics, laboratories, software and professional services. Technical sessions sit alongside capital markets, Indigenous and sustainability programs. Founded in 1932 and organized by the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada, the convention has grown into a meeting point where a geological discovery, its financing and its operating partners can all be discussed on the same trip. The record exhibit footprint in 2026 filled both MTCC buildings.

AME Roundup in Vancouver is a close alternative for an exploration-led trip. Its emphasis on technical sessions, hands-on learning, geoscientists, prospectors and Indigenous partners suits teams whose immediate questions concern discovery and Canadian mineral development. The January gathering can fit an exploration team's year before PDAC's March convention brings that work into a wider investor and supplier market. Choose Roundup when technical exchange and Canadian exploration partnerships carry the trip; choose PDAC when those conversations need to sit alongside financing and international jurisdiction outreach.
Mining Indaba in Cape Town gives African projects a different center of gravity. Its February program brings governments, mining companies, investors and downstream industrial buyers together around African mineral investment, with dedicated showcases for countries, explorers and junior companies. It is the more direct choice for African assets and mineral supply-chain partnerships. PDAC's advantage is the breadth of jurisdictions and its combination of an investment exchange with a substantial exploration supply floor. For a company serving several mining regions, Toronto creates scope to meet project owners and their service partners in one setting; for a geographically concentrated African strategy, Cape Town puts the relevant policy and investment conversations closer together.
PDAC is the right trip when an exploration project needs investors, technical partners and access to several mining jurisdictions in the same room.
Who exhibits
The exhibitor mix follows the path from discovery to investment. In 2026, Agnico Eagle appeared in the Investors Exchange, while Abitibi Metals combined that setting with the Core Shack. Actlabs and AGAT Laboratories brought analytical services to the Trade Show, alongside Abitibi Geophysics. That combination gives visitors both companies with mineral projects to assess and suppliers capable of working on them. Government and regional showcases add the jurisdictions behind the projects, making the floor useful for market entry as well as procurement.

Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada 2027
PDAC 2027 follows a record exhibit footprint in 2026, with the Trade Show, Trade Show North and Investors Exchange again occupying distinct parts of the MTCC. The awards evening adds the inaugural Emerging Leaders Award to its established honors. The investment meeting program continues with selected project exhibitors and screened investors, while the broader program spans technical, capital markets, Indigenous and sustainability discussions. Suppliers and project owners have separate exhibit routes, allowing each to address the audience closest to its commercial goals.
- For exploration suppliers, distinguish the South Building Trade Show from Trade Show North on Level 300; Investors Exchange sits on Level 800 for project and financing conversations.
- The One on One Meeting Program requires selection or investor screening.
- Awards Celebration & Nite Cap takes the industry gathering to the Fairmont Royal York's Canadian Room, with a dinner and reception extending beyond the exhibit floor.
Exhibiting
Suppliers and mining jurisdictions belong in the Trade Show; companies seeking financing, acquisitions or joint ventures have the Investors Exchange. New booth applications are assigned in order of submission, and rental payment follows an accepted offer. Booth packages include electricity, four staff passes, a shared All-Access pass and directory visibility. Corporate member pricing requires a paid 2027 membership application alongside the booth application.
