Its 470 exhibitors made it a substantial wholesale marketplace with a particular center of gravity in foliage, floral and tropical plants.

That focus brings garden centers, interiorscapers, grocery and mass-market buyers into the same room as growers, young-plant suppliers and companies that package, present and transport living products. Containers, growing media and greenhouse systems sit alongside the plants themselves, giving buyers a view of both the merchandise and the production behind it.

FNGLA runs the show at the Broward County Convention Center. The Road Show adds access to Florida nursery production, while the education program connects plant performance with retail, design and workforce decisions. For businesses building an indoor-plant assortment or an interiorscape supply network, the combination is especially useful.

How it compares

  1. IPM ESSENEssen, 39K
  2. This show: The Tropical Plant International Expo 2027Ft. Lauderdale, 7,750
  3. CultivateColumbus

Cultivate in Columbus is the wider North American horticulture appointment. Its July program spans greenhouse and nursery production, garden-center retail, landscaping, interior plantscaping and professional education. A business reviewing equipment, production practices and staff training across several horticulture segments can cover more of that agenda there. TPIE narrows the buying conversation to foliage, floral and tropical plants and puts Florida growers within reach of the exhibition.

IPM ESSEN serves a broader international plant market from Germany. With 1,476 exhibitors in 2026, its range extends across plants, horticultural technology, floristry and garden features. It is the stronger comparison for a European supplier search or a buyer who needs to look across many plant categories. Both shows occupy the January horticulture calendar, but their geography and supplier networks give them different roles.

TPIE earns its place when the purchasing brief revolves around tropical and indoor plants for retail or commercial interiors. Its grower contacts, decorative containers and supporting inputs make the trip coherent around that product range. Cultivate suits the broader operating agenda; IPM ESSEN expands the international sourcing map.

TPIE is the right trip for plant retailers and interiorscapers building a tropical and indoor-plant supply network with Florida growers.

Who exhibits

ForemostCo., Silver Vase Orchids and Ball Seed put propagation, flowering plants and wholesale supply at the center of the floor. Pottery Pots and DecoWraps show how much of the buying agenda concerns presentation as well as plants. Jiffy and Pindstrup add growing media, while Cravo and BioTherm bring greenhouse systems. The mix lets a retailer follow a product from grower to shelf, and gives an interiorscaper both living material and the containers and inputs needed to maintain it.

The Tropical Plant International Expo 2027

TPIE 2027 pairs its plant marketplace with an education program covering indoor growing media, updated interior plantscape standards, global retail trends and palm care. The Road Show returns with a full-day look at tropical foliage production. Booth and showcase awards give product presentation a place in the program, while the plaza happy hour extends the opening day into conversations outside the exhibition. The resulting agenda speaks to both plant purchasing and the businesses that sell, install and maintain those plants.

  • Use the TPIE Road Show to add a look at Florida tropical foliage production to the supplier conversations on the floor.
  • Interiorscapers can connect the indoor growing-media session with the program on international plantscape standards, then compare maintenance needs with growers and container suppliers.
  • The opening-day happy hour on the convention center plaza brings the same badge-holding audience together after the floor closes.
