Its audience comes from Kansas, Oklahoma, eastern Missouri and Kansas City, giving the Wichita show a regional buying role across machining, automation, materials and industrial services. The range extends from precision measurement and cutting tools to compressed air, software, fabrication and workforce support.

Established in 1974, the biennial show is built around a volunteer network from local supply management and manufacturing associations, the industrial community and Wichita State University. It also raises funds for scholarships and educational projects. That local foundation is visible on the floor: national technology brands sit alongside Wichita equipment dealers, repair firms and contract manufacturers. The 2025 show sold out its booths. For a plant or machine shop that needs both new technology and people who can support it nearby, WITS offers a concentrated view of the regional supplier market.

How it compares

  1. IMTSChicago, every two years
  2. FABTECHLas Vegas, 31K
  3. This show: Wichita Industrial Trade Show - WITSWichita, every two years

IMTS is the broader machinery comparison. Chicago brings manufacturing technology suppliers together on an international scale, covering the capital equipment and production systems that justify a substantial technical scouting trip. More than 1,700 exhibitors participated in 2026. WITS is a more focused regional stop for buyers who want to compare machining technology while also finding local support, consumables, repair capacity and outsourced production services. Its appeal lies in the mix of equipment and the businesses that keep it working.

For a project centered on sheet metal, welding or finishing, FABTECH offers a dedicated national meeting place for those processes. Its US event rotates locations, while Wichita gives those suppliers a place within a wider industrial purchasing show. A fabrication shop weighing several production technologies may find both useful: FABTECH for process depth, WITS for the nearby supply chain and adjacent shop needs.

WITS makes particular sense for teams within its Kansas and Oklahoma catchment. Buyers coming from farther away should be seeking that regional industrial network. The show connects factory technology with local industrial capacity.

WITS is the right trip for Midwest manufacturing teams that need production technology and the regional suppliers who can support it.

Who exhibits

Past WITS floors have put Renishaw and Blum-Novotest measurement systems alongside GoEngineer design and additive manufacturing tools. Ryerson adds metals supply, while Fastenal serves day-to-day industrial purchasing. Regional businesses broaden that technology mix: Grain Belt Supply combines cutting, forming, welding and finishing services, and Alpha Robotics provides robot training. These are useful connections for a shop buying a machine, improving a process or seeking outside capacity. The mix reaches across several manufacturing disciplines.

Wichita Industrial Trade Show - WITS 2027

WITS 2027 follows a sold-out 2025 show and returns to Century II Expo Hall for its 28th gathering. The organizer is taking inquiries from first-time exhibitors and returning companies that want a different position or more space. The volunteer-run structure continues, with a machinery-first setup process supporting substantial equipment displays. That emphasis on physical production equipment, alongside industrial services and supplier-led seminars, remains central to the Wichita show.

  • Bring process and maintenance questions together: WITS combines machine-tool suppliers with compressed-air, filtration, repair and metal-processing businesses.
  • Use the seminar program to explore the region’s technical resources. Past WITS talks brought university energy programs, machine technology and practical manufacturing software into the same event.

Exhibiting

WITS assigns space after receiving the contract, insurance proof, electrical or air application and payment. Booth quantity and payment method affect the published rate. The basic package includes curtains, a sign, a table and chairs. Machinery exhibitors need to coordinate high-voltage connections with the authorized electricians and supply their own machine-side air hoses. The show uses industrial-style air couplers. Large machines move in before the small booths.
