How it compares

The Greater New York Dental Meeting is the large East Coast alternative. It drew 32,012 registrations in 2025 from 138 countries and runs about 450 exhibitors in late November. A supplier with national or international ambitions gets more reach in New York; a company that sells to practices in Massachusetts and the neighboring states meets more of its actual customers in Boston, where dentists arrive with their hygienists, assistants and front-desk staff.

The Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting in February and the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting in Atlanta each March follow the same model as Yankee: a dental society meeting built around courses, with a big exhibit hall and the same national dealers and manufacturers. The choice between them comes down to sales territory.

For orthodontic suppliers, the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists meeting reaches specialists in the same region. Yankee is the better trip for general dentistry, hygiene and practice services.

Yankee is the trip for any company that sells to New England dental practices and wants to meet the dentist, the hygienist and the office manager in one aisle.

Who exhibits

The floor mixes the national dealers, such as Henry Schein Dental, Patterson Dental, Benco Dental Supply and Darby Dental Supply, with equipment makers like A-dec, Planmeca and KaVo, and newer AI and software firms such as Overjet, Pearl and Dandy. A large share of the booths sell to the business side of a practice: banks, insurers like Delta Dental of MA, practice transition advisors and staffing services. The New England dental schools and the state dental societies exhibit too.

Yankee Dental Congress 2027

Yankee 2027 runs under the theme Connecting for Oral Health, with a focus on the links between dentistry and overall health, and the exhibitor list includes an Oral Systemic Health Pavilion. The Thursday kickoff at the Omni Hotel features Dave Silk of the Miracle on Ice Olympic hockey team and the annual awards, and the evening concert features Nelly.

For exhibitors, the show added prefabricated 10 by 10 booths and a small number of turnkey kiosks aimed at first-time exhibitors. Registration and housing opened in early October.

• If your practice plans a large equipment or supply purchase, make it on Thursday or Saturday. Those are the Spend & Get days, when ADA members earn a gift card for buying from one exhibitor on one receipt, while Friday buyers go into a raffle.
• Visit your state dental association's pavilion on the floor. Each New England state has one, and it is the easiest place to meet the association's president and executive director.
• Bring the whole office. The course program has separate tracks for hygienists, assistants and office managers, and the Thursday brewery tour and Friday reception on the floor are where teams and exhibitors mix after classes.

Exhibiting

Booth space goes first to returning exhibitors through priority points in April, and new companies are placed after that first round, so a first-time exhibitor should contract early in the spring. Prefabricated booths and kiosks remove the shipping and setup work for a small team. The show pays off for dealers, equipment makers and practice-service firms that sell into New England, because attendees come prepared to buy and the floor rewards purchases made on site.
