ISH Frankfurt is the broader international building-services comparison. More than 163,000 experts attended in 2025, with sanitary systems, bathrooms, heat generation and intelligent building management sharing the program. It is particularly useful for European distribution and for companies whose heating offer sits alongside water systems or bathroom products. AHR gives refrigeration, HVACR components and the North American equipment channel more concentrated attention.

CMPX in Toronto is a more focused route into Canada. It brings mechanical, HVACR and plumbing brands together with Canadian contractors, with targeted education, product demos and a skills competition. For a supplier developing Canadian channel relationships, that concentration can be more useful than AHR’s wider geographic spread. AHR is the stronger choice when a trip needs to cover US distribution, international sourcing and several equipment categories together.

AHR Expo earns the trip for equipment manufacturers, distributors and contractors who need to compare the full North American HVACR supply chain in one place.

Who exhibits

Copeland and BITZER anchor the refrigeration conversation, while Grundfos and Armstrong Fluid Technology bring pumps and hydronic systems into view. Honeywell and Johnson Controls connect the equipment floor to building controls; Schneider Electric adds electrical and automation expertise. The mix also includes air movement, water heating, fabrication machinery and field tools. It rewards buyers who need to compare how components and controls fit into an operating system, as well as suppliers looking for OEM and distribution partners.

2027 AHR EXPO

Chicago 2027 brings AHR back to McCormick Place’s North and South Buildings. The organizer is promoting a gathering of 1,900 exhibitors, with the Building Automation & Control Showcase and Software Center among its dedicated areas. AI and smart controls sit beside refrigerants and decarbonization on the program, keeping building operation and equipment changes in the same conversation. The concurrent ASHRAE Winter Conference adds technical depth, while AHR’s product theaters give manufacturers a separate setting for short demonstrations.

• Treat the Building Automation & Control Showcase and Software Center as a distinct part of an equipment-buying trip; they connect controls and software to the systems elsewhere on the floor.
• AHR’s product theater presentations are short manufacturer-led sessions. Use them to compare product claims, then bring application questions to the equipment booths.

Exhibiting

The Chicago show is taking new manufacturer requests through a waitlist. The base space package includes drape, a company sign and advance employee badges; furnishings and other booth materials are additional. Equipment suppliers with both OEM and distribution ambitions fit the audience particularly well. Freight, rigging and utility requirements deserve attention alongside the stand itself, especially for working machinery demonstrations.
