Its roots are in Automotive Interiors Expo, and the exhibitor mix still reflects that background: polymers, trim manufacturing, surface decoration, hinges, seating components and lighting. The wider remit now includes exterior design, HMI, software-defined cockpits and the systems that connect them.

Novi places the show in the Detroit vehicle-development market. UKi Media & Events aims it at interior engineering leaders, design studios, UX teams, digital cockpit managers and procurement specialists working with OEMs and tier suppliers. The useful distinction is the connection between design intent and production: materials can be considered alongside the processes that form them and the hardware that makes an interior function. Vehicle Tech Week adds neighboring testing and intelligent-vehicle disciplines, giving cabin teams a reason to extend their conversations beyond surfaces and finishes.

How it compares

  1. Automotive Design & In-Cabin Expo EuropeStuttgart, 2,000
  2. This show: Automotive Design & In-Cabin ExpoNovi, 3,000

For a team sourcing materials, trim processes or cabin components for North American vehicle programs, Novi is a focused starting point. The expanded scope also suits designers trying to connect tactile quality and physical controls with digital cockpit behavior. It is most useful when the question spans several parts of the cabin and its supporting systems.

Automotive Design & In-Cabin Expo Europe brings the same materials, HMI and UX focus to Stuttgart in the June slot. That is the more direct regional choice for teams building relationships around European vehicle programs. Both shows have moved beyond the Automotive Interiors name toward integrated cabin experiences, so geography and the supplier relationships a team needs are stronger differentiators than the branding.

Automotive Testing Expo is the better starting point for NVH measurement, simulation, data acquisition and validation equipment. Intelligent Vehicle Expo concentrates on AI, automated driving, computing, connectivity and cybersecurity. Both share the Novi setting with the cabin show. A cockpit team can therefore move from materials and interfaces to the engineering systems that validate and support them within one trip.

A focused trip for North American cabin teams connecting materials, manufacturing and tactile components with the next generation of cockpit interfaces.

Who exhibits

BASF brings polyurethanes, engineering thermoplastics and recycled grades for surfaces, acoustic comfort and lightweight interiors. FRIMO supplies the processes behind those parts, from polyurethane processing and thermoforming to laminating, joining and automation. Reell adds friction hinges and positioning components for displays, consoles and storage. Alongside lighting, printed decoration and seating suppliers, these companies make the show useful for the practical decisions between a cabin concept and a production part.

Automotive Design & In-Cabin Expo 2026

The 2026 show takes the Automotive Interiors legacy into a wider vehicle-design setting. It joins the new Vehicle Tech Week North America alongside testing, intelligent-vehicle technology and the Advanced Chassis & Powertrain Showcase. The cabin content program connects exterior lighting and aerodynamics with interior UX engineering, seating, digital cockpit design, standards and interoperability. The exhibition retains recognizable materials and manufacturing suppliers while broadening the conversation to the architecture around the cabin.

  • Pair the cabin track’s HMI and digital cockpit themes with Intelligent Vehicle Expo if your project also depends on vehicle computing, cybersecurity or assisted-driving interfaces.
  • For a new trim part, connect the material conversation at BASF with FRIMO’s forming and joining processes and Reell’s positioning hardware; the three address different stages of the same cabin assembly.
  • Use the Vehicle Tech Week app’s shared agenda to follow the official drinks reception announcements and the neighboring testing sessions.
