How it compares

In Denmark, HI is the broadest industrial show. MCH also runs two narrower fairs in the years between: AUTOMATIK in Brøndby, near Copenhagen, covers automation, motion and drives and is the easier trip for plants on Zealand, while FoodTech in Herning had 267 exhibitors in 2024 and goes further into food processing, packaging and ingredients than the food technology hall at HI.

Across the border, Elmia Subcontractor in Jönköping is the bigger sourcing event, with about 1,000 exhibitors in 2025 and suppliers from across Europe. A buyer looking only for contract manufacturing or components has more choice there than in the HI subsupplier halls. Scanautomatic in Gothenburg serves the Swedish automation and process market, and Teknologia in Helsinki, with 13,073 visitors in 2025, does the same for Finland.

HI is the right choice when the goal is to meet Danish industry across sectors in one trip. Automation suppliers, machine tool dealers, logistics vendors and food processing specialists sit in neighboring halls, and the visitors are the people who run and maintain the plants as well as those who sign the orders.

The show for anyone selling to or buying from Danish manufacturing, especially the large plants of Jutland, across automation, machining, logistics and food processing.

Who exhibits

Most of the 650 exhibitors in 2025 were the Danish arms of international equipment brands and their distributors. Beckhoff, Festo, ABB, SICK and Universal Robots anchor automation, Mazak and Atlas Copco cover machining and compressed air, Jungheinrich and Toyota Material Handling lead internal logistics, and Lemvigh-Müller represents technical wholesale. The Danish Technological Institute shows several of its research centers, and the Danish Plastics Federation organized a joint stand for its members in 2025.

HI Tech & Industry Scandinavia 2027

The 2027 show runs over three days in early October. Its main addition is HI Metalworking, a dedicated area in Hall C for CNC machines for machining and sheet metal work, cutting and workholding tools, coolants, metrology and CAD/CAM software, with the trade magazine Teknovation as media partner. EOT - Electronics of Tomorrow returns as part of HI, and the sectors from 2025 carry on: automation and robotics, subsuppliers, internal logistics, food technology and production equipment.

• Technomania, the technology area run by the Danish Society of Engineers (IDA) in Hall F, has its own stages for talks on AI, digitalization and energy and holds a startup pitch competition on the first day.
• The DIRA Automation Award is presented at a networking event on the Wednesday evening, the main after-hours gathering of the Danish robotics and automation community during the show.
• Dairy specialists should head to Hall D for the International Food Contest, where about 1,000 dairy products are judged and can be tasted alongside the food technology exhibitors.

Exhibiting

Stand space is sold by the square meter plus a registration fee per exhibitor, with volume discounts from 24 m² upward. The price includes partition walls, a fascia sign, daily cleaning, a marketing kit, an MCH365 online profile and lead scanning. Ready-to-use and designer stand packages are priced separately. In 2025, 90% of exhibitors expected orders as a result of the show and 76% planned to come back.
