Armed forces delegations from 52 countries visited in 2025, and the Czech Ministry of Defence and Army formed the largest exhibition. That makes Brno a useful place to understand both Czech procurement and the manufacturers trying to sell beyond their home market. Armored vehicles, weapons, aircraft, radar and command systems share the program with cybersecurity and industrial components.

The commercial conversation extends beyond finished equipment. Lockheed Martin signed industrial cooperation agreements with AERO Vodochody, VZLU AEROSPACE and Vrgineers at the last show, while OMNIPOL agreed a joint venture for local production of Roshel vehicles. Space defense, startups and additive manufacturing are widening that supplier base. Outside the halls, the IDET ARENA puts military, firefighting and police equipment into action; the adjoining PYROS and ISET fairs connect the military exhibition with rescue services and civilian security.

For a supplier choosing between Central European defense exhibitions, IDET is the concentrated Czech industry visit. Its strongest fit is a project involving Czech manufacturers, the Czech military or an export partnership with that supply chain. MSPO in Kielce shifts the conversation toward Polish procurement, Polish Armed Forces capabilities and cooperation with Polish manufacturers. Its 2026 show brought together 1,209 exhibitors. The annual late-summer and September cycle also provides a different rhythm for companies managing a regional sales program.

Eurosatory in Villepinte offers a much wider international comparison of land and air defense systems, security technology and crisis management. With 2,633 exhibitors in 2026 and a biennial June cycle, it suits teams assessing competing platforms and suppliers across several countries. IDET gives those teams a more focused setting for the Czech relationships that can underpin integration, production and support.

The neighboring PYROS and ISET change the value of a Brno visit for buyers whose requirements cross military and civilian operations. PYROS concentrates on firefighting and integrated rescue services; ISET covers protection of people, information and property, including cybersecurity. Their connection with IDET and its outdoor demonstrations lets a civil protection team follow an equipment requirement across several kinds of end user.

IDET is the right trip for defense suppliers and buyers whose next partnership depends on Czech industry, military procurement or local production.

Who exhibits

The 2025 mix connected major Czech equipment makers with international technology and specialist suppliers. Tatra Defence Vehicle premiered the Pandur 8×8 EVO, OMNIPOL presented Roshel vehicles, and Česká zbrojovka introduced its latest CZ BREN rifles. EVPÚ Defence and TRL Space Systems appeared among the innovation award winners. Alongside these platforms, component, radar, communication and additive manufacturing suppliers make the fair relevant to engineering and production teams, while the Ministry of Defence and Army presence keeps the discussion close to operational users.

IDET International Defence and Security Technologies Fair 2027

IDET 2027 continues the expansion from vehicles and weapons into space defense, cybersecurity, startup innovation and 3D technologies for defense manufacturing. The Czech Armed Forces and University of Defence remain central to the program, alongside expert conferences and the outdoor IDET ARENA demonstrations. The show follows a 2025 gathering marked by the Pandur 8×8 EVO premiere, new industrial cooperation agreements and the opening of the Space Defense and Startup zone. PYROS and ISET again connect military technology with rescue and civilian security.

  • For a vehicle or equipment comparison, combine the indoor displays with the IDET ARENA demonstrations of military, firefighting and police equipment.
  • For an industrial partnership involving drones, space systems or additive manufacturing, include the startup innovation and space defense areas alongside established Czech manufacturers.
  • For civil protection or police requirements, extend the visit into PYROS for firefighting and rescue equipment and ISET for security technology.

Exhibiting

IDET offers covered and outdoor space, plus all inclusive stands that combine the area, registration, construction and technical leads. Early applications qualify for reduced rates; raw-space participation also carries registration, technical fees and surcharges for open sides. The commercial fit is clearest for suppliers seeking Czech military customers or integration and production partners in the Czech defense industry.
