Scottish Government, council estate teams, Scottish Futures Trust and education leaders sit at the center of its audience. That makes the Glasgow gathering particularly relevant to suppliers and consultants working on Scottish public education projects, from early years buildings to university facilities.

The conference follows the whole life of a learning estate: funding, design, construction, use and renewal. Additional support needs, sensory inclusion, outdoor learning and decarbonization connect the building discussion to the experience of learners. The accompanying EdTech Scotland program adds digital infrastructure and classroom technology. On the exhibition floor, modular construction, flooring and acoustics share space with furniture, school software and interactive displays. The awards dinner extends the conversation to the project teams behind completed work.

How it compares

  2. Education EstatesManchester, 5,000
  3. This show: Learning Places ScotlandGlasgow

Education Estates in Manchester is the closest comparison for an estate director, architect or building supplier. Its UK-wide program brings Department for Education priorities together with the funding, design, maintenance and management of schools, colleges and universities. It is the stronger fit for a supplier building relationships across the UK, or a team comparing delivery models beyond Scotland. Learning Places Scotland concentrates that conversation around Scottish Government guidance, councils and projects such as the Learning Estate Investment Programme.

For education technology, Bett UK in London provides a much broader international marketplace. Its 2026 gathering brought together more than 37,000 people and over 700 exhibitors, with schools, higher education, governments and distributors all represented. It suits buyers surveying software and hardware across many markets, and suppliers seeking international channels. EdTech Scotland is more closely tied to the institutions and digital strategies shaping Scottish learning environments.

The Glasgow event is strongest when the buying question joins the building to its users: how sensory design affects inclusion, how existing assets can be decarbonized, or how technology fits a campus strategy. It offers an education estate conversation with Scottish decision-makers and delivery teams.

A focused trip for the people commissioning, designing and supplying Scotland's schools and campuses, especially where inclusion, estate renewal and digital infrastructure meet.

Who exhibits

The exhibitor mix follows a school project from its structure to the classroom. Portakabin and McAvoy sit alongside flooring suppliers Altro and Gerflor, while Rockfon and Saint-Gobain Ecophon bring acoustics into the specification discussion. Community Playthings and KOMPAN connect interiors and outdoor learning to younger pupils. Arbor Education, ParentPay Group, SMART Technologies and XMA show how school administration and digital learning overlap with the physical estate. Morrison Construction adds the perspective of a contractor delivering Scottish education facilities.

Learning Places Scotland 2026

The 2026 program takes 'Learning Places - Building Pathways' into specific Scottish projects. Sessions examine the new Sensory-inclusive Learning Environments guide, lessons from Paisley Grammar School Community Campus, Currie Community High School and Peebles High School, and the Passivhaus-designed Faifley Campus. Queen Margaret University's Learning Resource Centre brings higher education into the discussion. Stage sessions and Campfire workshops run in parallel, while EdTech Scotland connects digital inclusion to the wider learning estate.

  • For school project delivery, compare the LEIP case studies on Stage 2 with the Faifley Campus and net zero discussion in the Campfire program; these sessions address different parts of the same commissioning problem.
  • For an inclusive-design brief, pair the Sensory-inclusive Learning Environments discussion with Rockfon and Saint-Gobain Ecophon on the exhibition floor, then the 'Inclusion by Design' session.
  • The Queen Margaret University Learning Resource Centre case study is the clearest route into higher education space planning; it follows the project from estate review and stakeholder engagement through completion.

Exhibiting

Shell-scheme packages include walling, carpet, lighting, power and a fascia board, with a stripped-back variant for a more open presentation. The premium upgrade adds an interchangeable conference pass and enhanced exhibitor visibility. Architects and contractors can also present completed projects in the central catering area. This suits suppliers able to connect a product to the practical delivery and operation of Scottish learning environments.
