In 2026, more than 1,600 lab owners, managers, technicians and dentists visited 131 exhibitors and chose among 87 seminars. That combination gives the show a particular purpose: comparing a production system while learning how it handles the cases a laboratory actually makes.

The supplier mix spans design software, scanning, milling, printing, restorative materials and implant components. Recent classes put digital dentures, full-arch workflows and zirconia finishing alongside business management and compliance. Digital production is a major part of the conversation, but the program also makes room for the manual judgment and material knowledge behind an esthetic restoration.

LMT launched its western show in Anaheim in 1991. Today, the Hyatt Regency Orange County hosts both the exhibition and education. The format suits West Coast laboratories that want substantive supplier contact and practical training without building their trip around the larger Chicago gathering.

LMT Lab Day Chicago is the broader comparison for a laboratory making several major purchasing decisions. Its 2026 show brought together 297 exhibiting companies and more than 5,100 attendees. The February gathering offers a larger international supplier field and three days of seminars, making it a useful place to compare multiple technology platforms and meet a wider cross-section of the laboratory industry.

West concentrates that supplier-and-education format in Southern California. For a western lab evaluating CAD/CAM, printed dentures or implant workflows, the smaller show can fit the task well: supplier demonstrations and detailed technical classes are part of the same visit. Chicago becomes more compelling when the objective is breadth across the market; West fits a focused production question and regional supplier relationships.

LMT Lab Day East serves the Northeast from Tarrytown, with a one-day exhibition and education format in the fall. It is a practical alternative for laboratories whose supplier relationships and customers are concentrated in that region. Choosing among the three is as much about where a laboratory does business as the size of the exhibition. West gives suppliers access to the Southern California lab community, while Chicago provides the larger international meeting point and East offers the shorter Northeast gathering.

LAB DAY West is the right trip for western dental laboratories comparing production technology and looking for practical training from the suppliers behind it.

Who exhibits

The 2026 floor joined digital platforms such as 3Shape and exocad with materials specialists Argen and Ivoclar, implant suppliers and laboratory service businesses. Carbon, Asiga and HeyGears added printing options, while milling centers and lab software providers addressed the production around the machines. This mix lets a technician connect a material or design question to the wider workflow, and lets an owner compare equipment with outsourcing and operational alternatives.

LMT Lab Day West 2027

LAB DAY West 2027 returns to the Hyatt Regency Orange County for its 36th annual gathering. The announced format keeps both exhibit halls and a seminar program on each show day. It follows a 2026 meeting that combined 131 exhibitors with 87 seminars and tabletop demonstrations. Continuing education remains part of the offer, with most seminars expected to receive NBC approval. The next gathering again brings purchasing conversations and technical instruction together in the hotel.
