That concentration explains the Melbourne show’s value: the people choosing coffee, equipment and beverage ingredients meet the suppliers who keep their businesses running. MICE welcomed 14,159 unique visitors and 157 exhibitors that year, bringing Australian café commerce together with producing countries and international equipment brands.

The floor connects green coffee sourcing with what happens behind the bar. Trip to Origin brings producers and importers into cupping and sourcing discussions; the Roasters Playground gives Australian roasters a place to serve their coffees and meet wholesale customers. The Café Owners Education Series deals with margins, staffing, menus and operations. Founded in 2012, MICE has broadened its foodservice audience while keeping café owners central. It also welcomes coffee enthusiasts, giving roasters and equipment companies both professional buying conversations and direct consumer feedback.

How it compares

  1. This show: Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE)Melbourne, 15K
  2. Fine Food AustraliaSydney

For an Australian café owner choosing a new roaster, changing milk suppliers or assessing coffee equipment, MICE puts those decisions in the same room. Its practical education and Australian distribution network make it especially useful when local service, training and ongoing supply matter as much as the product itself. Origin representation adds sourcing depth for roasters without turning the event into a general food fair.

Fine Food Australia is the broader buying trip. Its September show covers bakery, ingredients, commercial kitchens, packaging and hospitality technology alongside beverages, with more than 900 suppliers promoted for 2027. A restaurant group or hotel purchasing across several departments can cover more categories there. MICE gives a coffee-led business more time with roasters, green bean suppliers and bar equipment specialists.

World of Coffee Dubai serves a different expansion decision. Its January position and focus on the Middle East and North Africa suit suppliers developing regional distribution or roasters seeking international trade relationships. It combines global equipment and origin representation with a specialty coffee audience. MICE is the more direct route into Australia’s café market: local roasting brands, service providers and café operators shape the conversation, while Trip to Origin connects that market back to producing countries.

MICE is the right trip for café operators and coffee suppliers whose next purchasing or wholesale decision depends on the Australian café market.

Who exhibits

The 2026 floor paired Axil and Australian roasters with green coffee organizations and industrial suppliers. La Marzocco and Service Sphere represented equipment and support; ADM Packaging Automation addressed the roastery production line. MILKLAB, Procal Dairies and beverage brands reflected the importance of milk-based coffee and wider café menus. Square and Ordermentum brought operations into the mix. This is a café supply-chain show where a coffee tasting can lead into a conversation about packaging, payments or equipment servicing.

Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) 2027

MICE 2027 builds on the features introduced over the past two shows. Trip to Origin expands its stage program, combining sourcing, production and sustainability talks with cuppings. The Café Owners Education Series returns with more business-focused content, while the Roasters Playground now offers full-day presentation sessions. MICE at Night returns after its 2026 debut, extending the show into the evening for café operators coming off service. The Product Innovation Awards retain equipment, beverage, accessory and packaging categories.

  • Use Trip to Origin for green coffee sourcing conversations and cuppings; it brings producing countries and importers together in a dedicated setting.
  • Check which roasters hold each Roasters Playground session before deciding which coffees to compare; the format uses dedicated residencies.
  • Put the Café Owners Education Series on the agenda if staffing, menu margins or expansion are the reason for the trip.

Exhibiting

Roasters can take a dedicated Roasters Playground session with a barista and their coffee. Trip to Origin participants receive a stand, cupping and speaking opportunities, pre-show marketing and a webpage listing. These formats suit businesses that can demonstrate their coffee and discuss wholesale supply directly. General exhibition space is sold through the MICE team; the prospectus requires registering interest.
