In 2025, it brought 5,600 unique visitors from 39 countries to Lille, alongside more than 400 exhibitors. Its audience combines infrastructure engineers, rolling stock teams, technical managers and procurement staff, with operators and policymakers taking part in the wider program.

The appeal is the connection between components and the networks that use them. Track equipment, signaling, onboard systems and maintenance suppliers sit within the same commercial conversation. Automation, digitalization and decarbonization shaped the last show, while a new tunnelling area brought underground infrastructure into sharper focus. The launch of a railway industry and engineering alliance involving SNCF Réseau and RATP Infrastructures also made Lille a place for discussing how the French supply chain works together.

How it compares

  1. This show: SIFERLille, every two years
  2. EXPO FerroviariaMilan, every two years
  3. InnoTransBerlin, every two years

InnoTrans is the larger international comparison. Berlin drew 3,190 exhibitors and 175,591 visitors in 2026, covering rail technology, infrastructure, public transport, interiors and tunnel construction. Its outdoor track display makes it particularly useful for comparing complete vehicles and meeting suppliers across several national markets. That breadth matters when the brief extends beyond France or spans several transport systems.

EXPO Ferroviaria offers a closer counterpart in Milan. It gathers Italian operators, manufacturers, suppliers and government representatives around rolling stock, infrastructure and signaling. Suppliers pursuing Italian projects, or buyers needing relationships within Italy’s rail industry, have a clear reason to choose Milan. Its biennial September slot complements SIFER’s June return to Lille.

SIFER earns its place when the task is French market access or detailed sourcing within the French railway ecosystem. The mix of engineering businesses, component specialists, maintenance suppliers and industry institutions gives those conversations a common setting. For a buyer with a defined infrastructure or rolling stock problem, Lille offers a more concentrated trip than a broad international transport survey.

SIFER is the right trip for rail engineers and suppliers whose next project depends on French operators, infrastructure managers or component partners.

Who exhibits

The 2025 lineup placed Capgemini and Digirail alongside RATP Group and BSB Maschinenbau. That combination captures SIFER’s range: digital services and rail operations share the floor with industrial equipment. Its component suppliers extend the conversation to electrical connections, signaling, adhesives and maintenance tools. For a visitor, the value is being able to connect a specific technical requirement with the engineering and operating context around it, across both rolling stock and infrastructure.

SIFER 2027

SIFER 2027 returns to Lille with its rail supply-chain focus. SIFER Connect will again bring the exhibitor list, product directory, conference program and meeting agenda into one digital guide. The previous show established a tunnelling area and used the platform to arrange 1,134 confirmed meetings.

  • Use SIFER Connect for the digital onsite guide and your meeting agenda; it replaces the printed guide.
  • For French infrastructure discussions, ask how suppliers work with the railway industry and engineering alliance launched at SIFER 2025, which brings together SNCF Réseau, RATP Infrastructures and sector associations.
