IFPA's audience profile describes 2,200 participants, including more than 1,000 buyers, with over 80% making, influencing or recommending purchases. Chefs and menu developers share the Monterey gathering with grower-shippers, fresh-cut processors and supply-chain specialists.

School foodservice has a distinct place here. Its forum brings senior nutrition directors, school chefs and menu planners into conversations about sourcing, packaging and serving fruits and vegetables to children. Alongside the expo, buyer sourcing meetings connect suppliers with operators and distributors. The setting near California's produce-growing region also supports field visits within the school program. The conference's value is the concentration of produce expertise around foodservice applications: product format, kitchen use, availability and the practical demands of feeding people at scale.

  3. The Global Produce & Floral ShowOrlando, 20K

The Global Produce & Floral Show is IFPA's broader supply-chain gathering. Its October show rotates among major US convention cities and extends across produce, floral, retail sourcing and business technology. The organizer anticipates more than 20,000 participants and over 1,000 exhibitors in Orlando in 2026. That breadth suits suppliers seeking several sales channels or international relationships in one trip. Monterey concentrates the conversation on foodservice buyers and menu use.

Organic Produce Summit also meets in Monterey in July. Its organic-only focus gives growers and buyers a setting built around that specific market, with education, farm tours and an expo. It is particularly relevant when organic positioning is central to the product and customer relationship. The Foodservice Conference accommodates conventional and organic produce within the needs of restaurant, distribution and institutional kitchens.

National Restaurant Association Show brings the entire restaurant supply market to Chicago each May. Kitchen equipment, beverages, packaging and technology sit alongside food products and demonstrations. It offers a wider view of restaurant operations. Monterey is the more focused choice for buyers comparing produce suppliers, processors and the systems that keep fresh products moving through the foodservice chain.

A focused trip for produce suppliers and foodservice buyers whose decisions turn on menu performance, fresh-cut formats and dependable supply.

Who exhibits

Taylor Farms and F&S Fresh Foods put processing and kitchen-ready produce alongside growers such as Church Brothers Farms and Ocean Mist Farms. Naturipe, Driscoll's and Gem-Pack Berries add berry specialists, while Mission Produce and GreenFruit Avocados bring avocado programs. The supporting mix matters too: Copeland and Sensitech address cold-chain monitoring, and Aptean and Inecta bring produce business software. This is a floor for evaluating the product together with the operational system needed to deliver it.

The Foodservice Conference 2027

For 2027, the compact booth format keeps product presentation at the center of the expo. Fresh Ideas Showcase entrants must bring a product, line or service introduced since July 2026, linking the shelf display with an online presentation. The display is in the Portola's De Anza Foyer and feeds into the Best Product Promo and Best of Show judging. Taylor Farms, Mission Produce and the produce software suppliers on the floor illustrate the span from ingredients to the systems behind them.

  • Compare fresh-cut suppliers on yield and kitchen preparation alongside the whole-produce growers; Taylor Farms and F&S Fresh Foods provide a useful starting pair.
  • Use the Fresh Ideas Showcase to identify recent launches, then compare the shelf presentation with the exhibitor's product demonstration.
  • School nutrition teams can use the dedicated forum to discuss produce packaging, purchasing and menu acceptance with growers and peers.

Exhibiting

The standard stand gives every company the same compact footprint, making focused product demonstrations important. The package includes directory messaging and entry in the Best of Show contest. A Fresh Ideas Showcase shelf can extend a recent launch beyond the booth through its online product listing; its unrefrigerated display favors a carefully chosen presentation.
